This free guide is available to everyone. Visa Prepper currently supports applicants in Pakistan and India in English, Urdu and Hindi. Bengali and support for applicants in Bangladesh are coming soon.

An American visa interview can feel easier to prepare for when you break it into small questions. If you are applying from Bangladesh, start with your reason for travel, your funding, and the details in your application.

Below are practice questions for students and visitors, plus a way to organize your preparation. They are not a promise of what an officer will ask.

উত্তর মুখস্থ না করে নিজের পড়াশোনা, ভ্রমণের উদ্দেশ্য ও খরচের কথা সহজভাবে বলার অনুশীলন করুন।

F1 visa interview in Bangladesh: what to practice

For a student interview, try these questions:

  1. Why did you choose this university and course?
  2. What did you study before, and how does this course fit?
  3. What are your tuition and living costs?
  4. Who will pay, and how much support is confirmed?
  5. What are your plans after completing the course?

If you are applying after HSC, explain the link between your subjects and the degree you chose. If you are moving from a bachelor's degree to a master's, identify what you want to learn next. A study gap is something to explain honestly, not fill with invented work experience.

Use our F1 visa interview questions for more prompts. Read the official student visa guidance for application requirements.

Explain family funding and scholarships clearly

Make a private note with three headings: source of money, amount, and what it covers. Separate family savings, a scholarship, and any other confirmed support.

Keep Bangladeshi taka (BDT) and U.S. dollars (USD) labelled. If a scholarship covers tuition only, do not describe it as covering every cost.

If a relative abroad is helping, be ready to explain the relationship and the actual arrangement. “My uncle will help” leaves important details unanswered: what support, for which costs, and is it confirmed? Do not count the same contribution twice under both savings and future support.

Practice task: use your note to explain your funding in a few sentences. Then check the explanation against your documents. If the numbers do not fit, resolve that gap before practicing a more confident answer.

Visitor interview questions: family and business trips

For a B1/B2 visit, prepare:

  • Why are you going, and why now?
  • Who are you visiting?
  • How long do you intend to stay?
  • Who will pay for travel and accommodation?
  • What work, studies, or responsibilities will you return to in Bangladesh?

If your work involves a garment business or another trading company, describe your own role and the purpose of the visit. Do not assume the business name alone explains what you do.

A family visit is different from moving permanently through a family petition. Use the visitor question guide for a temporary trip and the family visa preparation page for a family-based immigrant case.

Planning for an appointment in Dhaka

If your confirmation lists Dhaka and you are travelling from Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna, or another city, plan around the full set of instructions—not just the interview time.

Check the address, document list, arrival instructions, and return arrangements. Family-based immigrant cases may have different steps from student or visitor cases. Follow the official Dhaka immigrant visa instructions when they apply to you, and the U.S. Embassy Bangladesh visa page for current notices.

Review names, dates and your application

Compare the spelling of names, dates, course details, and funding explanations across the records you are using. If a document uses an abbreviation or a different spelling, check the official requirements for that document rather than changing an original yourself.

For nonimmigrant applicants, our DS-160 review guide is a useful starting point. Use the interview document checklist to organize questions to check against official instructions.

Bengali preparation and current availability

You can organize your thoughts in Bangla before practicing your explanation. Use short sentences and your own facts. Check official channels for the language arrangements at your real appointment.

Visa Prepper's Bengali interviews and Bangladesh support are coming soon. These free guides are open now; the paid AI video interview service currently supports Pakistan and India in English, Urdu and Hindi. See current availability.

This is general preparation guidance, not immigration advice or an official checklist. Your individual case and current official instructions determine the next steps. No preparation service can guarantee approval.
